
First stage of the tannery is the arrival of the salted hides from slaughterhouses. Raw hides are carefully selected and classified for different products, such as Double bends, Double Shoulders and Sides, in terms of weight and dimensions.

Before starting the Tanning process, the selected hides must be well prepared. The soaking and liming stage is used to rehydrate and dehairing the bovine skins. Afterwards, the rest of fat and flesh are removed mechanically. Then, splitted hides are ready for tanning.

Stage to transform the animal raw hide into a noble and imperishable product. Infusing the resistance to decomposition of nature through vegetable tannins, which can be obtained from the Quebracho, tree that can be found in South America.

Prior to this stage of the process, tanned leathers are selected according to thicknesses and grain quality. Then, they are retanned, dyed and fatliquored in drums to achieve smoothness and improve mechanical porperties. On this step, the dyeing process gives the required base colour for each client.

Once the leathers are dyed, retanned and fatliquored, the drying process begins. First with mechanic operations like sammying, stretching and hot-rolling, followed by dryed through hanging inside a closed air-ventilated room, to extract the moisture and start the finishing process with optimal rate of humidity.

Leather is selected and certain parameters are tested to ensure optimal performance. The Finishing process improves leather surface, its resistance to water and scratches, obtaining the final look according to customers needs. After this stage, leather is ready to create Belts, Saddles, leathergoods and any Project our customers desire to develop.
